Google acquired @Last Software on March 14, 2006 for an undisclosed sum of money, attracted by @Last Software's work developing a plugin for Google Earth. On January 9, 2007, Google announced Google SketchUp 6, a free downloadable version of SketchUp, without some functionality of SketchUp Pro, but including integrated tools for uploading content to Google Earth and to the Google 3D Warehouse.
To use SketchUp for Web on a Chromebook, your Chromebook needs to meet the minimum specifications. However, the minimum requirements don't offer the best experience using SketchUp for Web on a Chromebook. Ideally, your Chromebook meets the following recommended specifications.
Minimum Specifications | Recommended Specifications |
---|---|
2.1+ GHz Intel processor | 2.8+ GHz Intel processor |
4GB RAM | 8GB+ RAM |
700MB of available hard-disk space | At least 1GB of available hard-disk space |
Intel HD integrated graphics card with at least 512MB video memory | Discrete Graphics card such as AMD Radeon R9 M37X 2048 MB |
We recommend choosing the largest available offering of RAM for any listed Chromebook. 4GB is strongly preferable to 2GB.

When you buy a SketchUp Pro license, you're enrolled in the SketchUp Pro upgrade, maintenance, and support program for one year. When you're active in this program, you have the following benefits:
- Predictable upgrade expenses: Within the year after your initial purchase, you can upgrade to the new SketchUp Pro version. After that first year, simply renew your license and enrollment in the upgrade, maintenance, and support program annually for predictable upgrade and support expenses. For a single-user license, you can renew for $120 per year. For a network license, you can renew for $400 per seat.
- The most current SketchUp Pro features: When you stay enrolled in the upgrade, maintenance, and support program, you have access to all the power-packed improvements that come with each new version of SketchUp Pro — as soon as the new version is available.
- Phone support: In addition to the Knowledge Center, Help Forum, and email support, the program gives you access to phone support. If you're encountering an issue installing or authorizing SketchUp Pro (or any other issue with SketchUp Pro), let us know and we'll be happy to help out. Please refer to your email with the upgrade, maintenance, and support information for contact details.
When your enrollment in the program is close to expiring, we send you email notifications. As mentioned earlier, you have a 30-day grace period to renew your license. The cost is $120 for a single-user license or $400 per network license seat. (To add additional network seats, contact our Sales team.)
After the 30-day grace period, you need to pay the license renewal fee plus a $60 enrollment fee for single-user licenses and $400 for network licenses to re-enroll in the program. So for a single-user license, you pay $120 to upgrade your license and $60 to re-enroll in the program for a total of $180. For a network license, you pay $400 to upgrade your license and $200 to re-enroll in the program for a total of $600.
As the time passes after your Maintenance & Support has ended the cost to reinstate the service will increase. If it's been longer than 1 year since your Maintenance and Support Plan has lapsed then the cost to reinstate will be $120 for Single User licenses and $400 for Network licenses. So for a single-user license, you pay $120 to upgrade your license and $120 to re-enroll in the program for a total of $240. For a network license, you pay $400 to upgrade your license and $400 to re-enroll in the program for a total of $800.
In the event that you need to 'downgrade' your SketchUp Pro license to an older version (perhaps for hardware reasons), you will need to remain current with Maintenance and Support in order to upgrade back up to latest version. If your Maintenance and Support expires, you will re-enroll in the Maintenance and Support plan to obtain an updated license.

Sketchup Pro 2018 Free

Sketchup 2018 Pro Download
If you have a license of SketchUp Pro from version 8 or earlier, you are not eligible for Maintenance & Support. You'll have to purchase a new license to access the latest version of SketchUp Pro.
